Western Battery was founded by Kevin and Rita Collier in 1970, who commenced operation from their home in Edward Street, Orange, building their own batteries. In November 1978, the Colliers moved to our current premises in William Street. Moving into battery and oil distribution, their philosophy of quality products, excellent service and competitive prices was born.

After enjoying steady growth, Kevin and Rita retired from the business in 1999, making way for Steve and Merril Turner. Steve’s background was in commercial radio, and Merril’s was in hospitality, and they worked to ensure the Collier’s philosophy endured. Today, the business enjoys a first-class reputation in Orange.

Western Battery Company has now been passed into the capable hands of the  Ramcar Group who have been in Australia for over 45 years and in the Battery Industry for nearly 100 years.
